Bio

Prof. Jonathan F. Ramos holds a Master's Degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and the Hospitality Educator Certificate (CHE) from the American Hotel & Lodging Association. He has been part of the full-time tenured faculty at UPR-Carolina for the last twenty-eight years. He has also been a member of the Advisory Board of the Disney College Program, Academic Senator and member of the Administrative Board of the University of Puerto Rico at Carolina. He also served as the School's Academic and Development Coordinator. His professional experience in the hospitality field includes management duties at the Caribe Hilton Hotel and El Conquistador Resort & Country Club in Puerto Rico.

Bio

Dr. Alan R. Rodríguez Pérez is a member of the UPRCa faculty, with 30 years of experience in academia and holds the rank of Professor. He has received academic training in the United States, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, France and Argentina. During his career as a professor he has taught and created courses and programs in the areas of food and beverage, hotel marketing, culinary arts, and international studies. He has held multiple governance positions at the University of Puerto Rico, including in the Academic Senate, Administrative Board, University Board, cloistered representative and secretary of the Governing Board and executive director of the President of the UPR. He currently coordinates the International Studies and Exchange Program (PEII) at the University of Puerto Rico at Carolina, the Study Trip to Europe and is the Project Director (PD) for external funding proposals with the Economic Development Administration (EDA). , The Caribbean Hospitality CARES Academy and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), LATINO Farm-to-Table and Food Safety Culinary Arts Initiative @ UPRCa.

Bio

Dr. Felipe González earned a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1992. He also holds an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island in 1993. She earned a one-year certification in pastry and baking at the Gregoire Ferrandi School in Paris, France. Likewise, he holds an Executive Master's Degree (EMBA) from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico and a doctoral degree in Nutrition and Food Sciences from the University of the Balearic Islands in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

En el 1994, laboró como Instructor el Departamento de Administración de Hoteles y Restaurantes de esta Institución donde estuvo a cargo de los cursos de producción de alimentos por dos años. Participó en el desarrollo del programa de intercambio de estudio a Europa. Trabajó en varias operaciones de alimentos y bebidas en diferentes lugares en Estados Unidos y Europa, adquiriendo experiencias a nivel local e internacional.

En abril del 2013, comenzó a laborar en la UPR en Carolina como coordinador de la certificación de artes culinarias a través de la División de Educación Continua y Estudios Profesionales. Desde julio del 2013, labora como Instructor de la Escuela de Administración de Hoteles y Restaurantes (ADHO). Ha participado en tres competencias culinarias, en la cual el equipo culinario de la UPR Carolina ha obtenido el primer lugar en dos de estas.

Al presente, cuenta con once años en la UPRCa, donde ejerce como Coordinador de Avalúo de la facultad de la Escuela de Administración de Hoteles y Restaurantes. Colabora con la asociación estudiantil/proyecto de Platos Calientes de UPR Carolina. Desde septiembre de 2022, se desempeña como codirector de una propuesta de fondos externos titulada: «EDA, Economic Development Administration, The Caribbean Hospitality CARES Academy” 01-79-15198 y como Co Investigador Principal de un segundo proyecto titulado: USDA-HSI NIFA LATINO “Farm to Table & Food Safety Culinary Arts Initiative @ UPRCa 2022-77040-37640” también de fondos externos.
