WORK SCHEDULE FOR THE 2025 SEARCH AND CONSULTATION

FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UPR

DATE ACTIVITIES
March 3, 2025 The Governing Board Search and Consultation Committee notifies the Academic Senates and the University community at large of the Certification which begins the consultation process to appoint the President of the University of Puerto Rico and publishes the work schedule and the description of the qualifications that candidates to the office of President of the University should have.
March 3 - 10, 2025 The Board Search and Consultation Committee publishes a notice and/or other announcement(s) to call potential candidates to the office of President of the University of Puerto Rico in two newspapers of general circulation, at least one of which will be in Puerto Rico, and other publications in various media, including digital. Openings to recruit temporary staff to support the Committee in the process may also be published.
March 3 - 24, 2025 Period for candidates and all individuals and organizations nominating candidates to submit their curriculum vitae and required documents to the Governing Board Search and Consultation Committee.
March 31, 2025 The Governing Board Search and Consultation Committee submits the candidates’ files to the Academic Senates.
April 1 - 30, 2025 The consultation committees of the Academic Senates evaluate the candidates and assist the Academic Senates so they may submit their recommendations to the Governing Board Search and Consultation Committee.
May 1 - 15, 2025 Academic Senates must submit their reports to the Governing Board no later than May 15, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.
May 16 -
June 20, 2025		 The Governing Board Search and Consultation Committee evaluates the reports filed by the consultation committees of the Academic Senates and interviews the candidates recommended by the Academic Senate. Interviews will be streamed on the website.
June 23 - 27, 2025 The Governing Board Search and Consultation Committee renders a report to the Governing Board and recommends one candidate.
June 2025 The Governing Board appoints the President of the University of Puerto Rico effective July 2025.
